Detailed Solution

The above statement is false.
Maratha rulers wanted to expand their Kingdom to different parts of the country.
Marathas were the powerful rulers in the Deccan region of India who gave tough opposition to Mughal rulers. The most popular ruler of Maratha was Shivaji, who lived from 1627 to 1680 and carved out a stable Kingdom in present-day Maharashtra. He took the support of powerful warrior families like Deshmukhs, groups of highly mobile peasants, pastoralists called Kunbis, etc., to expand the Kingdom from the Deccan region to other parts of the country. In 1674 he was incarnated as the king of Maratha. And Shivaji then stood up to challenge the mighty Mughal Empire, which was then under the control of Aurangzeb.
The correct statement would be Maratha rulers confined themselves to Different regions.
