The disease called rinderpest spread in Africa in the 1980s.
The virus is believed to have been brought to Eritrea by Indian cattle brought by Italians for a campaign against Somalia in 1887. It stretched along the Horn of Africa and crossed the Zambezi River in March 1896. Rinderpest was a deadly disease. It was invading Britain's Asia. Italian soldiers helped Africans invade Eritrea, so the army imported cattle from Asia to Britain to feed soldiers fighting for their country. Due to the infection of cattle, rinderpest spread among humans after feeding these cattle. As a result, rinderpest has spread to Africa, causing countless Africans to lose their livelihoods. Colonial states took advantage of this situation by conquering and conquering Africa, monopolising scarce cattle resources, and driving Africans to the labour market. In the 1980s, an outbreak of rinderpest spread from Sudan throughout Africa, killing millions of cattle and wildlife. As a result, a Pan-African Rinderpest campaign was also initiated in 1987.
