Sclerenchyma is involved in only mechanical support and can not carryout any metabolic functions as its cells are dead. Collenchyma is involved in providing mechanical support and photosynthesis. Phloem is involved in conduction of water, storage of food and providing mechanical support as it has parenchyma and fiber. Parenchyma shows varieties functions like photosynthesis, protection, absorption, storage, secretion etc.
