The Revolt of 1857 occurred in Delhi, Meerut, Kanpur and Lucknow. The East India Company faced a massive revolt at Meerut in 1857. It threatened the presence of the British in India. It started as sepoy mutiny and many others from different parts joined it. The starting point of the Revolt was in Meerut, which spread to Delhi. In Delhi, the revolt was led by Bahadur Shah Zafar. Similarly, in Kanpur it was under Nana Saheb. And in Lucknow, the leadership was taken up by Begum Hazrat Mahal.
