Detailed Solution

The loo is the wind blowing in the northern plains in the summers. A hot and dry wind blows over the Indo-Gangetic Plain spread over India and Pakistan. Loo is a very dry wind and has a drying effect on flora and fauna. It has a high temperature, causing a sudden increase in the body temperature of human beings, which may result in heat strokes. Overexposure leads to serious consequences. The agriculture in these areas is affected by these winds during the summer. They are prominent during May and June. Loo starts blowing in the early morning, around 9 a.m., and intensifies around noon. These winds originate in the hot desert of northwest India, the Great Indian Desert.
