Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.
The Mughals came from two influential ruling families. On their mother's side, they were descended from Genghis Khan (who died in 1227), who ruled the Mongol tribes, China, and Central Asia. They were the lineal heirs of Timur, the emperor of Iran, Iraq, and modern-day Turkey (who passed away in 1404). On the other hand, the Mughals disliked the terms "Mughal" or "Mongol." This was because Genghis Khan's name was linked to the massacre of vast numbers of people. It was also connected to their enemy Mongols, the Uzbeks. In contrast, the Mughals were highly proud of their Timurid forebears, especially after they had taken Delhi in 1398.
