Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.
Chintz is a plain, medium-weight, polished or glazed cotton fabric called "polished cotton". Traditional chintz fabrics are printed with large patterns and are used for home products. Chintz is printed clothing, and the word is of Hindi origin. Chhint means the fabric in the shape of tiny colourful flowers. Chintz was originally a printed, painted, or stained wood painting produced in Hyderabad, India, between 1600 and 1800 and was famous for bedspreads, quilts, and wall hangings. After Vasco da Gama successfully approached Calicut in India in 1498, cloth became known in Europe. Around 1600, Portuguese and Dutch merchants brought examples of Indian chintz to Europe on a small scale, but English and French traders began sending in large quantities.
