Rajaram Mohan Roy started with Samvad Kaumudi. During the early half of the 19th century, Ram Mohan Roy produced the Bengali weekly newspaper Sambad Kaumudi in Kolkata. This publication's strong advocacy outlawed the Sathi Pratha. The Sambad Kaumudi (in Bengali) and Mir'at Al-Akhbar (in Persian) are two weekly vernacular newspapers that Raja Ram Mohan Roy founded and edited. He was also a founding member of the English daily "Bengal Herald,". These were all published by Raja Ram Mohan Roy between 1772 and 1833.
