As a result, they started collecting regular taxes rather than depending on occasional donations from people, as in the case of the rаjа of the jаnараdаs. The most significant taxes were from farmers. Typically, the tax was set at 1/6th of the output, known as a share or bhaga. Moreover, craftspeople had to pay taxes.
