Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.
Tipu Sultan was widely known as the "Tiger of Mysore'' because he fought bravely with the tiger. He was the son of Haider Ali and became the ruler of Mysore in 1782 after his father's death. Tipu Sultan decided to stop exporting sandalwood, pepper, and cardamom in 1785 because the East India Company had successfully traded on the Malabar Coast. He also did not allow local traders to trade with the company. However, he skillfully maintained good relations with the French and modernised his army with their help. At the Battle of Seringa Patam, Tipu Sultan died while protecting his capital, Seringa Patam. For the British, he was ambitious and dangerous and threatened their dominance. Thanks to these Indian rulers, we have always been a unified country and have succeeded in winning freedom from British rule.
