The social groups participating in the noncooperation movement were the urban middle class, including lawyers, teachers, and principals; students; farmers; people; sewers; and workers. Each social group has different aspirations, and their noncooperation is motivated for different reasons. The various social groups involved in the noncooperation movement were middle-class participants in towns and cities and workers in plantations. Farmer in the countryside, Tribe Gandhiji believed that British rule would fall and Swaraj would come if the Indians did not cooperate. Gandhiji believed that British rule existed in India through Indian cooperation.
