Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.
Shifting cultivation is a type of agricultural practice in which a specific piece of land is cleaned of all vegetation, farmed for a short time, and then abandoned to allow the soil to naturally regain its fertility while searching for new territory to cultivate on. A few characteristics of shifting farming include the rotational cutting and burning of tree portions. Seeds are also sowed in the ashes following the first monsoon rain, and they are harvested in September and October. In this style of farming, the land is either farmed for a short period or until it loses all of its fertility, at which point it is left fallow. Farmers that practice shifting cultivation periodically farm the ground for two or three seasons.
