Religions like Buddhism and Jainism originated in India and later spread to countries like China, Thailand, Sri Lanka, etc. This attracted some pilgrims to India. Fa Xian, Xuan Zang, and I-Qing were a few Chinese pilgrims who travelled to India to learn about Buddhism. They visited famous monasteries.
