But later on, it was discovered by the archaeologists that it was the earliest of the civilizations, which was to be found as the name suggested Harappa. The archaeologists started excavating the sites through various scientific measures as well. The most important of all was carbon dating, which was also done. This led to the discovery of various cities of the Harappan civilisation.
