Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.
Under Emperor Aurangzeb, Mir Jumla was named Subahdar of Bengal (1660–1663). His birth name was Mir Muhammad Said, and he was an Iranian. He was given many titles by the Mughal emperor, including Muazzam Khan and Yar-i-Wafahdar, but Mir Jumla is the name by which he is most known in Bengali history. The most significant feature of Mir Jumla's administration in Bengal was his northeastern frontier strategy, through which he overthrew the frontier kingdoms of Kamrup and Assam. Mir Jumla, whose invasion of Assam was hailed as a military triumph and "a brilliant statesman," raided Assam in 1662 and held the territory until the Ghilajharighat Treaty's signing in 1663. 16 According to the terms of the agreement, the Mughals obtained a sizable war indemnity and received a sizable cession of the Ahom.
