Detailed Solution

The above claim is True.
Sanitation is an essential public facility. It is equally important as water supply to ensure good health. Many diseases spread through contaminated waters. However, sanitation in India is much lower than public water supply. Sixty-eight percent of households in India have access to the public water supply. However, only thirty-six percent of areas have sanitation in the form of toilets for their residents. The poor classes settled in the rural and urban areas suffer most from a lack of sanitation. Like water, sanitation too falls within public facilities. However, there are non-governmental organisations like Sulabh which set up toilets for lower classes and Dalits. Sulabh receives funds from the government for the same.
