Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.
The Gujjar Bakarwals of Jammu and Kashmir are great herders of goats and sheep.
Around AD 1127-1154, the Gujjar Bakarwal tribes entered the territory of Jammu and Kashmir and settled in the state's mountains under the empire of Maharaja Bijay Singh. The nomadic lifestyle held them back educationally and economically. They prefer to live in green pastures because they depend on livestock for their livelihood by selling milk, dairy, and other dairy products. They are bound by tribal customs and diligently follow religions. They go higher in the mountains and lower in the plains seasonally to raise large numbers of sheep and goats for subsistence.
