Detailed Solution

The above statement is false. It is wrong to say that Sri Lanka did not fail to implement the concept of power-sharing. Sri Lanka failed to implement the idea of power-sharing, and as a result, it faced civil war and brutal killings of people from every community. In 1956, the Sri Lankan government passed an act that gave special powers to the Sinhalese-speaking community because Sinhala was considered the official language of Sri Lanka. People who speak the Tamil language faced discrimination because they could not apply for any government job or do any work in their language. In this way, the Sri Lankan government, instead of adopting the practices of power-sharing, tried to suppress the minority groups by giving supremacy to one community, and it failed to implement the concept of power-sharing.
