The British government introduced the Rowlatt Act, also known as the black act, in Indian history. This reform was also known as the Government of India Act 1919. Gandhi launched Satyagrah against the Rowlatt Act under this reform. Due to the Rowlatt Act, many political revolutionaries and common people who participated in the freedom struggle got arrested based on a suspect and kept in detention without trial in court for about two years. It was an unfair act in which an innocent person also came under suspicion. Therefore, against this cruelty and unfair act, Gandhiji decided to start Satyagraha against Rowlatt Act.
