Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.
At the Indian National Congress session held in 1927 at Madras, presided over by Dr Ansari (not by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad), it was decided to boycott the Simon Commission “at every stage and in every form”. This decision was made because there were no Indians in the commission. Hence, the Muslim League and the Hindu Mahasabha supported the decision made by Congress. So, when the commission arrived in India in 1928, it was welcomed with the slogan ‘Simon go back”. However, this temporarily united different groups and parties like the Muslim League and the Hindu Mahasabha in the fight against the British colonial power.
