Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.
In 1739, when Delhi was experiencing a political and economic crisis, the Iranian ruler Nadir Shah stormed and pillaged the city, robbing it of enormous quantities of money. Between 1748 and 1761, the Afghan king Ahmad Shah Abdali invaded north India five times, each invasion followed by a series of pillaging raids. Competition between different noble groups damaged the empire even more. The nobles were categorised under two primary clans: Iranis and Taranis. These powerful factions exploited the later Mughal monarchs as their puppets for a long time. The deaths of Farrukh Siyar, Alamgir II, Ahmad Shah, and Shah Alam II, and their blinding by their nobles, caused the Mughal emperors to suffer the worst kind of humiliation.
