Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.
The Free Corps was a veterans' organisation that helped the Weimar Republic crush the workers' uprising or socialists. The British Free Corps was a unit of the Waffen SS during the Second World War. It consisted of British and Dominion prisoners of war whom Nazi Germany had recruited. Initially, this unit was known as the Legion of St. George. However, the period for which this military group was active was minimal. It was formed in 1943 and finally disbanded in 1945. The Free Corps was recruited in a Prisoner of War (POW) camp. They were not sympathetic toward workers and socialists and crushed their movement.
