The convex pole or proximal pole or formative pole or cis-face  is associated with nuclear envelope and ER. The concave pole or distal pole or maturation pole or trans-face is the oldest which gives the formation of secretary vesicles. It is facing towards plasma membrane. The cis and trans faces though different they are inter connected.
