Detailed Solution

Natural gas that has been compressed to less than 1% of its volume at typical atmospheric pressure is known as compressed natural gas (CNG). Methane (CH4) makes up the majority of CNG. It is distributed and kept in rigid containers, often cylindrical or spherical in shape, at a pressure of 20–25 MPa (2,900–3,600 psi). Whether used alone (dedicated), in conjunction with another fuel (dual fuel), or with a segregated liquid fuel system to increase range, CNG is utilised in conventional petrol/internal combustion engine cars that have been adapted or in vehicles designed particularly for CNG use (bi-fuel). Diesel, liquefied petroleum gas, and gasoline can all be replaced by it (LPG). Compared to the aforementioned fuels, CNG combustion creates fewer unfavourable gases.
