Commercial activities in India started slowing down in the year 1750.
The network of export trade was supported by a variety of Indian bankers and merchants, who also transported commodities and provided importers with supplies. Supply merchants connected the island areas and port towns. They transported the supply to the ports, paid the weavers' advances, and purchased the woven fabric from their villages. Brokers who represented the large shippers and exporters at the port negotiated prices and purchased items from supply merchants doing business inland. Indian traders were in charge of this network, which was disintegrating by the 1750s.
