Detailed Solution

Communal politics considers religion as the principal basis of the social community.
It is a practice when one religion tries to present itself as distinct and superior to others. It believes that people belonging to one religion have the same interests, separate from the interests of other religions. Such beliefs create a divide in society and drive one religion against another. Communal politics is when religious identity is used to gain political power to fulfil collective interests, establish dominance over other religions, or even demand a separate state based on religion. For example, Pakistan was created based on Islam, separate religion from Hinduism. Recently, the demand for Khalistan based on Sikh identity is another such instance.
