Conservatives believed Traditional institutions should be preserved. Three different kinds of groups existed:

Liberals: They supported a multi-religious society that did not prioritise any particular religion. They also disapproved of dynastic lords. One vote per property was requested; however, women were not counted.

Radicals favoured a society where most of the population would elect the government, and some supported allowing women to vote.

Conservatives: They rejected the idea of reforms because they felt unprepared for them. They eventually consented to the impending changes but insisted that the past should also be respected. Hence, they were the opposite of the liberals. They believe that traditional institutions should be preserved.
