Detailed Solution

Cotton and silk textiles were popular in 18th-century Europe. In terms of quality and craftsmanship, Indian textiles were the most popular in Europe and the rest of the world. Printed cotton textiles had been popular in England since the 1680s, owing to their delicate floral design, fine texture, and low cost. Fine cotton fabrics from India brought to Mosul by Arab traders in modern-day Iraq were popular among European merchants. Cotton textiles known as "calico" were brought back to Europe by the Portuguese. Europeans also favoured the printed cotton fabric known as "chintz". The Queen and other wealthy people in England wore clothes made of Indian fabrics.
