Detailed Solution

Different food and non-food crops are grown in different parts of the country based on soil, temperature, and production practices. There are three farming seasons in India: Rabi, Kharif, and Zaid. Rabi crops are planted in the winter months of October and December and harvested in the summer months of April and June. Wheat, barley, peas, gram, and mustard are important Rabi crops. Kharif crops are sown in various parts of the country as the monsoon season begins and are harvested between September and October. During the summer months between the Rabi and Kharif seasons, a brief time known as the Zaid season occurs. Watermelons, muskmelon, cucumbers, vegetables, and fodder crops are among the crops grown during zaid season.
