Dandi March was launched in 1930. The Dandi March is also known as Salt March or the salt satyagraha. Gandhiji started the Salt march to abolish the Salt tax. On March 12, 1930, Mahatma Gandhi established it by marching about 240 miles from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi, a hamlet on the Gujarat coast. Gandhiji broke the law when he arrived in Dandi on April 6, 1930, by producing salt from the seashore.
