The distance between David and his image will be 6 m.
The distance from the object to the mirror (object distance Do) is the same as the distance from the image to the mirror (image distance DI) in the case of a plane mirror.
Given the distance from the mirror to David’s image, DI= 4 m
Therefore, Do = DI = 4 m

 Do = 4 - 1
