Cubit, Handspan, Armlength, and Footspan – Definitions

• Cubit: An ancient unit of length measured from the elbow to the tip of the middle finger, usually about 45 cm.
• Handspan: The distance between the tips of the thumb and little finger when the hand is fully stretched, about 18–22 cm.
• Armlength: The length from the shoulder to the tip of the middle finger, roughly 65–75 cm depending on height.
• Footspan: The length of the human foot from heel to toe, typically 20–30 cm.

These are traditional body–based units of measurement used before standard metric systems.
