Describe a food chain.

A food chain explains which organism eats another organism in the environment. The food chain is the sequence of populations or organisms through which food and its contained energy pass in an ecosystem, with members at one step becoming the food of the later step of the sequence. After understanding the food chain, we realise how one organism depends on another for survival.
