Detailed Solution

According to the Bohr Atomic model, a small positively charged nucleus is surrounded by revolving negatively charged electrons in fixed orbits. He concluded that an electron will have more energy if it is located away from the nucleus whereas electrons will have less energy if it is located near the nucleus.

Postulates of Bohr's model:

  1.  While revolving in discrete orbits the electrons do not radiate energy.
  2.  These orbits or shells are called energy levels.
  3. These orbits or shells are represented by the letters K, L, M, N or the numbers n = 1, 2, 3, 4
