Detailed Solution

T.S of Dicot leaf exhibit three parts. They are
1) Epidermis 2) Mesophyll 3) Vascular system
1. Epidermis :
* Epidermis is differentiate into adaxial epidermis (upper surface) and abaxial epidermis (lower surface).
* It is covered with cuticle to reduce transpiration.
* Abaxial epidermis generally bears more stomata than the adaxial epidermis.
2. Mesophyll :
* The tissue between upper and lower epidermis is called mesophyll tissue.
* It is composed of palisade parenchyma and spongy parenchyma.
* Palisade parenchyma is made up of elongated parenchymatous cells which are arranged vertically and parallel to each other.
* Spongy parenchyma contains air cavities.
* Mesophyll tissue mainly concern to photosynthesis.
3. Vascular System :
* This includes vascular bundles which can be seen in the veins and the mid-rib.
* Vascular bundles are conjoint, collateral and closed type.
* The vascular bundles are surrounded by a layer of thick walled bundle sheath cells.
