Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.
Colonising Africa became child's play after the onset of a fatal cattle plague known as Rinderpest utterly decimated African livelihoods. The lethal disease arrived in eastern Africa in the late 1880s via diseased cattle imported from British Asia. Later, it spread like wildfire across the continent, killing 90% of the cattle and devastatingly impacting African livelihoods because pastoralism was the backbone of their economy. The African populace, which could not previously be persuaded to labour for salaries on European farms or mines, now had to work for the Europeans, making it easier for European colonists to control and conquer Africa.
