To calculate the median from the following interval data, we must first compute the cumulative frequencies.

Because the class widths are unequal in this case, we don't need to adjust the interval frequencies.

Total number of students =6+4+7+9+16+2=44

Since, the number of students is even, the median will be mean of n2 and n+2th 2 number

Median = Mean of 442th  and 44+22th 

Here, 22nd  and 23rd  number is 24 if arranged in ascending order.

Hence, median =24+242=24
