Detailed Solution

Dhamma was based on Peace, Brotherhood, and Respect.
Samrat Ashoka was the first ruler to convey his message to his subjects through inscriptions. After the violent warfare of Kalinga, Samrat Ashoka was deeply moved by the loss of human and animal life. Hence, he learned Buddhism and dhamma. He believed in dhamma based on non-violence, kindness, charity, justice, and equality. He appointed dhamma mahamatta to preach and practice the lessons of dhamma in daily life. He inscribed the messages in Prakrit and Brahmi script. He also inscribed messages and quotes on the walls and pillars and appointed mahamattas to read them out loud for those who could not read. He also enabled equality for the slaves and servants who were major victims of discrimination. Apart from this, Samrat Ashoka also built Stupas and Buddhist Universities to study dhamma and practice Buddhism.
