Detailed Solution

Different elements of Mughal architecture fused for the first time during the reign of Shah Jahan. Many monuments were built during the reign of Shah Jahan, specifically in Agra and Delhi. Some examples are the ceremonial halls of public and private audiences, which was the Diwan-i-Khas and Diwan-i-Aam. These halls, which were located inside a huge courtyard, were also known as chihil sutun or forty-pillared halls. The audience halls for Shah Jahan were intentionally designed to mimic mosques. The Taj Mahal, the most significant architectural achievement of Shah Jahan's reign, was designed using the river-front garden as a model.
