Detailed Solution

The above statement is True. Different Social groups had different interpretations of Swaraj. In the countryside, the rich peasant communities in Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh were active in the Non-Cooperation Movement. Due to the trade depression, they got drained out of their income. They found it difficult to pay the revenue set up by the British. The government refused to reduce the revenue. For them, swaraj means getting leniency in revenue. Workers on the plantation also had their interpretation of Mahatma Gandhi’s swaraj. For them, swaraj means freedom to move in and out of their restricted area.
