Detailed Solution

Concept: Dimension, nature of material and cross-sectional area, are the factors on which resistance of a conductor depends.
Conductors are materials that efficiently conduct electric current or any other source of energy. For instance, all metals.
The resistance of a conductor is the property by which it opposes the flow of charge through it, according to the Definition of Resistance. It's the ratio of the current flowing through the conductor to the potential difference applied across it.
Mathematically,
Question ImageThe ohm, denoted byQuestion Image, is the SI unit of resistance.
When a current of one ampere passes through a conductor and a potential difference of one volt is applied across its ends, the resistance is said to be 1 ohm.
The resistance of a conductor at constant temperature is determined by the following factors:
1) Dimensions
A conductor's resistance R is directly proportional to its length, i.e. Question Image.
2) Cross-sectional area
A uniform conductor's resistance R is inversely proportional to its cross-sectional area A, i.e. Question Image.
3) Material's nature
A conductor's resistance is also influenced by the nature of the material it is made of. The resistance of nichrome wire, for example, is 60 times that of copper wire of similar length and cross-section area.
When all of the preceding formulas are added together, we get Question Image, where Question Imageis the proportionality constant known as resistive or specific resistance of the conductor's material.
Note: A conductor's resistive is solely determined by the three elements listed above.
Hence, the correct answer is resistance.
