Detailed Solution

The division of powers between higher and lower levels of government is called vertical division.
The division of power between different levels of government is known as the vertical division of power. Power can be shared by forming a government at the central level, state level and local level. For instance, in India, a general government for all is the Central or federal government, and the regional level government is called the State government. However, the names of governments might vary nation-wise. Many countries don't even possess dual governments. As we already know, what Belgium did, might not be suitable for Sri Lanka. Such power sharing is also named the federal division of power. Municipalities and Panchayats are all parts of the federal government. This kind of division is known as the vertical division of powers.
