Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar is known as the chief architect of the Indian constitution and was one of the prominent lawyers and leaders of those times when India got its independence in 1947 and was looking for the establishment of democracy and making of its constitution. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar belonged to the Mahar caste, one of the untouchable castes in Dalits. He saw the worst exploitation his caste people and other Dalits faced because of the untouchability system and the caste system in our society. While studying, he saw the discrimination against him, as being from a Dalit family, he was exempted from sitting with upper-caste students and had to sit on the classroom floor to get the lectures. All this ill-treatment led him to include various upliftment policies for the Dalits in the constitution.
