Dr Rajendra Prasad was the chairman of the Constituent Assembly.
In 1950, Dr Rajendra Prasad, who had previously served as the chairman of the Indian Constituent Assembly, was inaugurated as the first president of the Republic of India. On December 9, 1946, the Constituent Assembly of India had established to write the constitution for the Independent India that had scheduled to be constituted on August 15, 1947. Sachchidananda Sinha served as the interim president of the Constituent Assembly, but Dr Rajendra Prasad served as the assembly's permanent chairman. Dr Rajendea Prasad became the first president of independent India.
