Due to violence, there was a disagreement between Congress and the peasants and workers.
The causes were dissatisfaction with conference members and workers, and farmers. Injustice in Turkey, the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, severe taxes levied on farmers by the Talukdars, and mistreatment of workers was a minor cause of the above movements. Gandhiji did not believe in non-violence. People who were protesting turned violent to achieve their goals, which was contrary to Gandhi's ideology. The people involved in the movement under Gandhiji wished to gain swaraj through peaceful conduct instead of engaging in acts of violence. The former peasants and workers' unions did not engage in non-violent activities and took strong measures such as hunger strikes and strikes.
