Due to the earth's curvature at higher altitudes, one can experience less dense and cooler temperatures. We experience less dense and cooler temperatures at higher altitudes. As the temperature decreases, the density of air also decreases. Moving up to higher altitudes, the density of air decreases, and the air becomes thinner. With this decrease in density, the temperature also falls, resulting in colder climates in the higher latitudes. This is the reason why hill stations are colder. Scientifically speaking, as we move upwards, the number of air molecules exerting force on us decreases, thereby decreasing air pressure. Simultaneously, the temperature drops as a result of this. This is why less dense and cooler temperatures are experienced in higher altitudes.
