Detailed Solution

Due to the greater converging power of the eye lens in a myopic eye, the image of distant objects is formed in front of the retina.
In myopia, the light rays entering the eyes converge too soon and are brought to focus before reaching the retina. So, the image of a distant item is formed in the front of the retina and not on the retina. This results in a reduced ability to see distant items clearly. Nearsightedness usually occurs during childhood and adolescence, and it usually becomes more stable between the age of 20 and 40.
