During separation of solid and liquid mixture, sometimes we prefer filtration than sedimentation method. Because,
i) Complete separation of liquid is not possible in sedimentation
ii) When solid have less density comparing with liquid, sedimentation is not possible
iii) Filtration is a fast process
iv) Complete separation of components is possible in filtration
