During the 17th century, the Sikhs got organised into a political community and established the state
of Punjab. The Rajputs and Mughals were the targets of numerous conflicts conducted by Guru Gobind Singh. Khalsa was founded in 1699. After Guru Gobind Singh passed away, Banda Bahadur proclaimed an independent state between the Satluj and Yamuna rivers. In 1715, he was captured, and he was put to death the next year. In the 18th century, Sikhs formed bands known as jathas, which later evolved into misls. The vast army was the moniker of their combined forces (dal Khalsa). Rakhi is a system that offers producers protection in return for a 20% tax on their produce. The Khalsa established their rule by minting their coin in 1765.
