Detailed Solution

During the 20th century, the Nationalist Leaders promised to provide suffrage to women activists. Women founded women's organisations, started schools and training facilities, created periodicals, and wrote books. They created political pressure groups to pursue legislation giving women the right to vote and better health and educational opportunities beginning in the early 20th century. Some of them joined various nationalist and socialist organisations starting in the 1920s.
In the 20th century, leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru and Subhas Chandra Bose supported efforts for women to have more freedom and equality. Nationalist leaders promised equal rights for men and women following Independence. But women were asked to concentrate on the anti-British battles up to that moment.
